There will be a discussion for Raid Oklahoma today at Oklahoma State University. It is being held in the Student Union Room 460 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. If you want the cliff notes on the event, you can click on Leading by Example that will take you to the website for the Stillwater NewsPress. Michelle Charles with the paper did a wonderful article on the paper. You want the long note version read below:
We all know how screwed up things are getting politically and how much more screwed up they are going to get probably no matter who wins because NO ONE IS ADDRESSING OUR ISSUES DAMNIT! So instead of turning into one of those crazy headed liberal democrat and so wound up tight republicans, I think it's time to use everything I've learned in the last fourteen plus years and work on getting something done but in a different route. Okay the way the agenda is going to work for the meeting is like this:
Introduction
Discussion Time: TBI/PTSD/Disability - Now what will be done during this time (and hopefully we will have enough sticky notes) is people will write down (at the appropriate time) their perceptions, misconceptions, assumptions, etc. And if there was any time to be down right truthful to the point that it might hurt, this is the time to do it especially if we are going to get anywhere at fixing any of the problems! Then we will get to the realities of what it is really like and how the outcomes can be different from one person to another.
Ten minute break
Presenting a Presentation before someone at the Stillwater Board of Education - I will explain more on this at the meeting
Forum for Employers in Stillwater on TBI/PTSD/Disability
Employers to approach about helping to sponsor this
My own LLC - TBI Raiders
***Same Mission Statement***
Purpose would be to help students with and without disabilities in the end with being able to focus more on their grades by getting sponsorships for the LLC and being able to give a select number # of students something to help them with their schooling so that they don't go so much into debt and can concentrate on graduating.
Volunteering would be kept through both the Service Learning Center so they could get the C.O.R.D. when they graduate and volunteermatch.org to keep in touch with me and stay in the know with what is going on.
