I have been majorly silent on this board for a reason. I wanted to get everything ready and put together that I was wanting to do to help Oklahomans living with a Traumatic Brain Injury, whether they were students or not. I will just put my feelings out there on how I feel on the presidential election. I DON'T like either one of the candidates. But one of them is going to win. We can point our fingers all we want and I really will do some finger pointing if someone gets in my face about it. But whining about is NOT going to fix anything. Pouting about it. Fighting about it. Causing riots ARE NOT going to solve anything! If anything it is going to make it worse and enable a lot more people to die and a lot more people to sustain a Traumatic Brain Injury. As survivors that is something that we should NOT be wishing upon anyone.
I've been working on something to not just help students in schools but also worked on legislation that would help in all areas...education, employment, etc. This legislation I wrote was based off of legislation that had been passed in three other states and one that had been attempted in another state. Then I am also trying to get TBI Raiders through Raid Oklahoma off the ground at Oklahoma State University. I have had a training, a booth, and will be doing some more things. I will be meeting with a student in this next week about putting together something. The one thing we must remember is that if we want to make a difference around us, we can NOT be all talk, but we need to put in the WORK and show that we care about others that are different than us.
