Oklahoma State Representative Enns has filed a bill request on the legislation that failed to make it through the Education Committee last session (H.B. 2826). He said he was going to take a look at it and see what could be fixed. Now while he has filed the bill request, come session time I will need to find another Representative to run the bill. This is because Representative Enns is at his limit with bills. I talked via Facebook messenger with State Representative Wallace who told me, "We have 25 new Republican freshman and a few with military background. If Representative Enns request the bill, I'm sure we can find someone to run it." I'll create a separate post as to why I wrote the bill and what it would do as well as the legislation I looked at in writing the bill.
In organization news, I spoke with Lou Watkins, who is on the Board of Regents for Oklahoma State University, about ways of building up the organization and getting activities accomplished on campus. She said the best way to do so would be through forming a student organization on campus. I will be setting up a free conference call to take place later this month. It will be a question and answer session for people to ask what they would like about the organization and about building a student organization. The one thing I do know that will need to be worked out is to have it written in the bylaws to work with the volunteer service. Because officially I won't be able to have any part of the student group since I am no longer a student.
I will be working on the websites and definitely working on the one that apparently has malware on it. I need to go find what scripts are on the site and remove them. I think I will just redo the site at this point to get the stuff removed and cleaned up. I will be working on blogs to post on allie4tbihelp.tumblr.com all this week.
Events -
Raid Oklahoma Forum will be February 3, 2017. It will be held in the Student Union Ballroom from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.. We will have a stage, podium, with a table for a panel. There will be three panels....one for TBI, PTSD, and Disabilities. The tables will be circle tables set up in the shape of a U with three tables in the middle. Each for information on TBI, PTSD, and Disabilities. Now if there is anything extra such as food and drinks, the TBI Raiders will need help in terms of being able to pay for it. Until there is a student organization for TBI Raiders, would it be possible for a student club to take this on as a project?
Raid Oklahoma Gala, (May 2015???) This was discussed last year for having to honor Traumatic Brain Injury survivors, whether they are veterans or not, for surviving and having the courage to go through all the struggles that they have.
