I have found a student at Oklahoma State who is seriously committed to helping TBI Raiders grow. We have the following going people....
When I went to the east coast for disability conferences, they more the less said they were better than us because they had this and that. Sorry but this Okie is proud to stand up for the Midwest and is working to make sure no one is left behind in Oklahoma! People like to just get and move when things get tough. But I come from a family that teaches that you tough it out, stick close to those you can count on, and help others in need.
- Getting a student organization formed at OSU
- Traumatic Brain Injury support group meetings 1st and 3rd Fridays at Stillwater Medical Center
- Cato's Fashion Show sometime the second week of March to raise awareness on Traumatic Brain Injury and to raise money for an organization dedicated to helping those with TBI. I'm going to wait till the organization has their meeting this month till I say more.
- Community Project that will help line out and show just what HB1612 that was authored last session for the Oklahoma House of Representatives will look like if it is taken back this next session and passed. I have put together an outline for a community program here in Stillwater to show what it will look like. I know the bill front and back because I drafted it. The bill is a combination of CA 2009 AB 398, MI (hope I got Michigan's initial's right, lol) 2012 SB 1122, VA 2010 HB 174, and I don't remember the legislation that was attempted in the New York Legislature but failed to pass. It had to do with driver's licenses. So if you were you to find OK 2017 HB 1612, that I drafted, these are the pieces of legislation I looked off of to see how I should build it. California's bill, I primarily used the 4 (f) Community Re-entry portion because that is the backbone of what served to create the bill.
