Below is the agenda for the day and this also some of what I posted up on the 2016 Raid Oklahoma web page.
June 30, 2016
2:00-3:00 pm
SU RM 460
Raid Oklahoma
This is to get discussion going about what people think they know, their misconceptions, perceptions, etc. We are starting out with this then we will dive into the whole truth and nothing but the truth matters plus the stuff that may fall in the grey areas. This will last for the first thirty minutes for the first part of the agenda. I want to make sure everyone gets a good understanding and we get everything out on the table. I will also need help from others to speak on the topics. So if you would like to help speak email me at osuallie@gmail.com.
Disabilities
Traumatic Brain Injury
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Once we are finish, we will have a quick ten minute break. Then we will come back to finish up with the rest. The presentations that are done for the TBI Training for Teachers, if we get that accomplished, as well as the Discussion Forum for Employers and the Fall Forums on PTSD & TBI which I will want to be at Oklahoma State University, I would like the students to give the presentations to give them more experience in getting ready for the workforce, especially if their major was say in education. Then in the LLC, I would be the administrative head of it but those who work under me I would like to be veterans. This would be my way of giving back and giving a hand up for veterans who are looking for work and want to do something to make a difference.
TBI Training for Teachers:
Prepare Presentation for person who works at Stillwater Board of Education
Improving the Workforce for those with TBI, Concussion, PTSD Discussion Forum for Employers:
Approach Cato's Hibbett Sports, and Stillwater Medical Center about sponsoring something for the forum
Fall Forums on PTSD & TBI for:
Survivors
Athletes
Veterans
Loved Ones
Civilians
LLC - under me - TBI Raiders
Mission: To help see that students and young adults with Traumatic Brain Injury succeed at their dreams in both school and life
Purpose: To employ students with and without disabilities to help them with paying for their living expenses and/or college tuition
Volunteer: Work through Service Learning Office to work toward their C.O.R.D. and register on volunteermatch.org to keep up to date with the organization
"TBI should be in a category of its own since a person with a TBI doesn't just have a TBI itself but also could have additional disabilities as well. The category disability implies just that one disability. Once a person starts to learn about TBI and the implications that it could have, they will also have to learn about the other disabilities that are out there." Director Murie
